Wrestling: Drew Hanson was selected as the athlete of the month in wrestling. Hanson made a dedicated effort after the Christmas break to hone his skill and improve his performance and it paid off in February, as he defeated a higher-seeded opponent to wrestle his way into the championship match at the conference tournament. Hanson also had a good showing at the Regional tournament held in Rapid City.
Cheerleading: Bailee Volk was selected as the athlete of the month in cheer. Volk continued to improve throughout the year as a leader for the Ranger squad. In addition, she always carried a great attitude in practices and preparing for games.
Girls Basketball: Dory Schrier was named athlete of the month in girls basketball. Schrier finished off her career with 15 rebounds and eight points in a first round Region win over Spearfish. For her career, Schrier has the most rebounds in the past 13 years. She finished with 674 varsity rebounds and also 730 points. She has been a strong post player for the Rangers not only this season, but her entire high school career.
Boys Basketball: Noah Krull represents boys basketball as the athlete of the month. Krull played a lot of minutes at both the varsity and JV level. He averaged just under 10 points per game for the varsity and 13 points per game for the JV. Krull is a playmaker and a spark plug with a great work ethic. Krull shot 54 percent from the field during varsity games and 56 percent during JV games.
