James Henry Gogolin, of Frostproof, Fla., died Feb. 7, 2017. He was 73.
Jim, who served 23 years in the U.S. Navy, was living in his winter home near Frostproof, Fla., at the time of his death. Despite a four year battle with cancer Jim left this earth never having had pain.
A memorial service will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hill City at 10 a.m. Friday, June 16, with a second service at 2 p.m. at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, S.D.
Jim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lin; sons, Tim and Mike of Minneapolis, Minn., and Stafford Va.;, two daughters-in-law, Cathryn and Jacqueline; three grandchildren, Amanda, Alexandria, and Andrew; and many friends with whom he shared his love of barbershop music and bridge.
