Students continue raising playground funds

A group of Hill City Elementary students who spent their afternoon picking weeds and cleaning things up by the Welcome to Hill city sign on May 16. The students have made significant progress on fundraising for artificial turf on their playground.

Hill City Elementary Students turned in an additional $5,200 dollars last week toward their playground fundraiser, giving them a three week total of just shy of $10,000 earned.

These five to 11-year- olds who dedicated their energy into this fundraiser have really seen what a big difference they can make. The number of kids involved increased each week and have impressed so many with their willingness to earn money for a greater cause.

Because of the kids’ effort and the many other donations to the project the goal is within sight. The students all celebrated their fundraising success May 19 with a beach party and smoothies sponsored by the Alpine Inn. Awards for the top earning participants were given at the school awards ceremony on Tuesday, May 23.
