A “calm and respectful meeting” was recently held between representatives of the City of Custer and city restaurateurs regarding the amended transient merchant ordinance that would allow food trucks in Custer. Restaurateurs proposed modifications to the ordinance at the meeting, which was tabled during its second reading due to concerns from restaurant owners.
At its April 3 meeting the Custer City Council gave unanimous approval to amending the city’s ordinance regarding transient merchants, adding a section that would allow mobile food vendors to set up on private property.
