City clean-up this weekend

The City of Custer’s annual community clean-up days will take place this weekend, beginning Friday, April 30, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, May 1, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be no charge to city residents hauling waste to the transfer station. Residents must provide a residential city utility billing statement receipt when they arrive at the transfer station. Commercial accounts will not  be allowed free access to the transfer site.
All waste will be accepted with the exception of hazardous materials such as liquid paint, antifreeze and herbicides. No freon appliances such as refrigrators and air conditioing units will be accepted unless it is certified that freon has been properly removed. No tires will be accepted.
The transfer station is located one half mile north of the Hwy. 16A/89 intersection behind the Hills Material Co. plant.
Yard waste will be accepted at the old dump site located at the intersection of Sylvan Lake and Willow roads north of the transfer station. All yard waste must be loose. No plastic bags are allowed.
Assistance will be provided for the elderly and disabled. Residents requiring assistance should contact city hall at 673-4824 to make arrangements. In case of inclement weather, clean-up day may be postponed.
