Govt. has no right to force vaccinations

Famed Harvard Law School emeritus professor Alan Dershowitz said in an interview earlier this week that the federal government has a constitutional right to forcibly vaccinate a citizen in order to stop the spread of a contagious disease. We beg to differ.

In an article written by Art Moore published in WorldNetDaily Monday, Dershowitz was quoted as saying, “Let me put it very clearly, you have no constitutional right to endanger the public and spread the disease, even if you disagree. You have no right not to be vaccinated, you have no right not to wear a mask, you have no right to open up your business,” he said. These are extremely troubling words coming from this law scholar.

Regarding forced vaccinations, Dershowitz cites the 10th Amendment to the Constitution which states that the federal government has only those powers delegated to it in the Constitution, and all other rights are reserved to the states and the people. He claims the government has a constitutional right under this amendment to forcibly vaccinate a citizen to stop the spread of a contagious disease.

The argument against forced vaccinations is based on the 14th Amendment which states that no state “shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.” We don’t believe the government should have any right to put anything in or on your body that you don’t want there, for any reason.

Why the big push for vaccinations all of a sudden? Even those in the medical profession are hanging on every word uttered by billionaire Bill Gates who is a noted champion of vaccinations. How did a software developer gain this kind of credibility in the health care community? This  individual has been quoted in the past as believing there needs to be a population reduction in the world in order for us to survive.

Earlier this week, Italian Congresswoman Sara Cunial called out Gates, saying he is an international criminal guilty of crimes against humanity by causing death, paralysis and diseases. She is not the only one in the world with the same impression of the billionaire businessman whose foundation has funded the development of vaccines used around the world, especially in Africa.

It is somewhat surprising to read about Dershowitz believing the government has an absolute right to force vaccinations on an unwilling populace. There are those who will take a vaccine shot as soon as it is available for the coronavirus. But those who do not want to take it should not, and cannot, be forced to do so. Many people have never had an annual flu shot and suffered no ill effects, while some who have come down with the flu anyway.

People who get a virus shot have no reason to fear or be upset with those who do not. By taking the virus shot they do so with the idea of being immune to the virus, so why worry about those who do not get immunized? The latter group has made their own health decisions which do not include vaccinations. Those decisions should be respected, not villanized.

The government does not grant us any freedoms  above those endowed to us by our Creator, nor does it have the right to take these same freedoms from us.
