Halloween activities

Editor's note: this report has been updated since its run in print to correct an error with what day Halloween is.

 

Halloween is next Saturday, but that doesn’t mean all the fun will be that day.

Here’s a rundown of area Halloween events this year.

Oct. 30

Hill City Elementary School costume parade on the green, 2:15 p.m., elementary school green

Merchant Trick or Treat, immediately after school (school dismisses at 3  p.m.), Main Street Hill City

Fall Carnival at the Boys and Girls Club, 4 p.m.-6 p.m., Hill City Boys and Girls Club

Oct. 31

Second annual Hill City Area Chamber of Commerce Children’s Boo Bash and Pumpkin Festival, 10 a.m.-noon, Hill City Visitor Information Center. This event features trunk-or-treating, mini pumpkin give away, guess the candy court count, costume contest and more. Masks an hand sanitizer will be available, and the chamber will be following safe social distancing best practices.

Chamber members who wish to participate in trunk-or-treat or sponsor by donating pumpkins, candy, prizes or cash to help with expenses, please call the chamber at 605-574-2368 or stop by the office at the visitor information center with a contribution. The chamber appreciates member’s help in making this a great little event.

Keystone Library Trunk or Treat, 3-5 p.m., Keystone Community Center. There will be food and candy served.
