James Pastor

James Joseph Pastor was born Dec. 31, 1952, to the late Joseph and Jeanine Pastor of Rock Springs, Wyo., and was raised in Rock Springs and was the oldest of four siblings—David (Diane) Pastor of Murrieta, Calif., Gary (Jana) Pastor of Rock Springs, Janet (Rich) Boulette of Lander, Wyo., and Cindy (Ron) Hager of Burnet, Texas. He also had 13 nieces and nephews as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
Jim was an avid outdoorsman and was known for his easy disposition and his skills as a heavy equipment operator and as a welder. He also had experience as an iron worker, a CDL truck driver, and as a mechanic of construction equipment. His best skill however was his role as a husband and father as he excelled in that area of his life.
Jim, of Custer Highlands, S.D., died May 21, 2023, surrounded by his family at Hospice House in Rapid City, S.D. He was 70.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carol Springman Pastor; and his daughter, Jessica J. Pastor of Rapid City, S.D. Since Jim had a love for animals it should also be mentioned his dog Chewy was also by his side at the time of his passing.
Because Jim’s circle of friends and family is located in several different towns, they have opted to hold his memorial electronically. Visit chamberlainm
ccolleys.com to sign his guestbook.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Cancer Society of the Black Hills or the Humane Society. It would also be nice if his fisherman friends catch a fish in his honor.  He would have liked that.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley Funeral Homes in Custer, S.D.
