Joyce Naugle

Joyce E. Naugle was born Nov. 22, 1939, in New Underwood, S.D., to Herman and Clara (Wiley) Zaugg.
After graduating high school she attended beauty school. Joyce and Bob Naugle were married in 1958 and they had four great kids—Dan, Patty,  Darcy and Tom.
Joyce had many careers and found pleasure in all of them. She was a waitress, a beautician, she used her green thumb and worked in a greenhouse, she performed receptionist duties in professional offices, she was a substitute teacher, she managed apartments, she was responsible for providing breakfasts in motels and she sold Avon products.
Joyce was active! She was active in church and many book (wine) clubs.   She passed the time of day crocheting, gardening, basically doing anything that had to do with plants! She decorated cakes, crafted decorations for Christmas and other holidays, volunteered for home hospice patients and was a bird watcher.
She listened to country music but she loved all music, playing an accordion and a piano in a few bands. The residents at Colonial Manor thoroughly loved it when she would come to the facility and play music for them. Her likes and hobbies were many, varied and changed often with the one common thread being she approached each as if she were killing snakes!
Our mother was known for her reliability, her strong work ethic and her trustworthiness. She will long be remembered for her care and friendliness to others.  She was the epitome of a loving wife and mother.
