Kalomera Stabnow
On Feb. 10, 2024, Kalomera M. Stabnow exited this life and journeyed to a city with foundations whose Builder and Maker is God. She retained salvation through Jesus Christ late in life and strove to grow in grace and sanctification through prayer and scripture study. When visiting with friends and family she would often “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” according to the scriptures (Jude 1:3).
Kalomera was born to Mike and Adeline Ballis on January 19, 1928, and grew up during the depression surrounded by the Greek culture of her father and his acquaintances and neighbors. She graduated high school and entered nurses training in Faribault, Minn. She married Irving J. Stabnow shortly after his return from overseas when the war with Japan ended. They were married 71 years until Irving’s death.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, her husband and two of her four children, Matthew Stabnow and Liesa Lynch.
Kalomera is survived by her sons Luke and Mark Stabnow, 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
