Orval Elliott

Orval DeVere Elliott was born May 26, 1934, in Buffalo Gap, S.D., to Frank Orval Elliott and Ruth (Miller) Elliott.
Orval was raised in the Buffalo Gap and Hot Springs, S.D., area. Orville was known by many different names from his family and friends, such as “Jr.,” ”Grandpa Smokey,” “Snowball,” “Ice Cream Man,” or “Big O.” He was a wonderful father and loved everybody. We were very fortunate to have him with us for as long as we did. We will miss him deeply.
Orval passed away Jan. 11, 2024, in Arizona surrounded by his loving family. He was 89.
Heaven gained a great cowboy.
Orval is survived by his children, Patty (Ted), Ruthie (Charlie), Frankie, Johnny, and Kara; his significant other, Donna; and numerous grandkids, great- grandkids, and great-great grandkids.
We will be having a celebration of life service and burial for our father on his 90th birthday—May 26, 2024. The location will be announced at a later date.
