Bridging America—How Food Security Unites Us All will come to Watson Park in Keystone July 4.
The event kicks off at 12:15 p.m. with music by Allen and Jill Kirkham.
At 1 p.m. several speakers will present including organizer Trent Loos, rancher and writer Amanda Radke, CEO Kevin Jenkins, Dr. Mollie James, politician Theresa Thibodeau and John Bolin.
The mission according to Loos is to help empower people to get involved locally specifically at the county level and in  school districts.
“We encourage people to go to school board meetings and get involved,” Loos said. Last year’s event, Arise USA, Drew 1,300 people according to Loos.
Loos said he wanted to be on Mount Rushmore on July 4.
“It’s funny, a majority of Americans think that Mount Rushmore is in Rapid City. I love being the bearer of education,” he  said. “Who doesn't want to be near Mount Rushmore on the Fourth of July?”
According to Loos the Keystone Area Chamber of Commerce has “gone out of its way to help” event organizers.
