If you saw a fire on Main Street in Hill City on March 10, you had nothing to worry about.
The Hill City Volunteer Fire Department burned down a vacant building across from the school to practice skills that will be used to save lives and property.
“We are out here, we are going to have a training that is going to enhance our life safety skills,” said Howard Schrier, chief of the fire department, before the burn.
The fire department had safety officers on different corners of the building and had an interior operations person who lit some pallets on fire.
