Jeanette Carlin

Jeanette Ursula Carlin was born Sept. 9, 1952, to Patrick Carlin and Mary Opal (Rapp) Carlin.
Shortly after her first grade at Emery, S.D., her family moved to Rapid Valley five miles east of Rapid City, S.D., where she attended elementary school, then high school graduating in 1971.
She married Jerry Edwards Nov. 27, 1971, and to this union two children were born—Jason Dean Edwards and Julie Ann Edwards.
Her hobbies included drawing, painting, singing, photography, carpentry and studying the Bible.
In 1987 Jeanette married Randy Wallace and they were together for many years.
Jeanette died Friday, March 21, 2025 at her home in Box Elder, S.D. She was 72.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Mary Carlin; and four of her brothers, Paul Carlin, Leo Carlin, Charles Carlin and Richard Carlin.
She is survived by her son Jason Dean Edwards and wife Jodie of Box Elder, S.D., and grandson Jackson Dean Edwards of Forman, N.D.; and her daughter, Julie Ann (Edwards) Red Leaf and husband Ray and grandchildren, Stephen, Joshua, Ray Jr., Katheryn, Cora, and Jeannie Red Leaf and great- grandson Theon Red Leaf all of Rapid City; her siblings, John Carlin and wife Elaine of Greatinger, Iowa, Jim Carlin, Joe Carlin and wife Joanne, Patricia Janssen, Margaret and husband Buddy, Tom Carlin and Dan Carlin and wife Jodean all of Rapid City, and Michael Carlin and wife Terry of Cheyenne, Wyo., Ann Anderson and husband Gerry of San Diego Calif., and Mary Carlin of Oceanside, Calif.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 27 at the Community Church in New Underwood, S.D., with Pastor Jake Julson officiating.
Interment will follow at the New Underwood Cemetery.
