“Green was the silence, wet was the light, the month of June trembled like a butterfly,” Pablo Neruda, “100 Love Sonnets”

The library is currently open! On June 1, the library hours will change to Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please knock on the north side door by the book drop. Notice the guidelines for entering the library. We are still offering curbside service, as well. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call us at 574-4529.

The Kids Summer Reading Contest will begin Monday, June 8. The contestants will earn weekly prizes. Contestants who complete all six weeks will have their names entered for a chance at the grand prize in their age group. Please register at the library to join in the fun!

We will not be having Storytime or a Book Club meeting in June. Hopefully in July we will be providing programs and special events. The Imagination Club will start again in the fall.

The Friends of the Library will be getting the garage organized and ready for book sales. The librarians will be glad to assist anyone wanting to purchase books. We are going to try and have sale days where the doors will be open. We will post an announcement on Facebook and spread the word.

The library will be closed Friday July 3, Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5.

I look forward to once again seeing each and every one of you at your Hill City Public Library.
