OK burgers, good fun

If your weekend plans seem a little foul, step up your game Friday night at Halley’s 1880 Store where the action is sure to be a slam dunk for the whole family at the Hill City girls basketball third annual fundraiser. 

The fun tips off Friday, July 24, at 6 p.m. at Halley’s 1880 Store in Keystone where the team is geared up to take the floor—the dining floor, that is—serving up Halley’s self-proclaimed “worldish-famous okay-est burgers,” and crispy hand-cut fries. 

While their (burger) baskets won’t earn points, they will help the team score as your tips help fund the teams future, paying for tournaments, camps and other opportunities that keep the Rangers in the game year-round. Think of it as a delicious way to help the team’s shooting percentage—by upping your tip percentage. The only thing hotter than the grill will be the competition to out tip your neighbor. 

The action doesn’t stop there. Fans can box-out the competition during the silent auction, featuring gift certificates, themed baskets and other locally-donated treasures. 

Providing the soundtrack for the evening is Hill City alumni and Las Vegas vocalist Dayna Tully. With her high energy and booming vocals, Tully is sure to bring a bit of Las Vegas spotlight back to her hometown crowd. 

Making a comeback is the fan-favorite dunk tank. While no official starting line-up has been announced, organizers are reportedly recruiting willing—or perhaps unsuspecting—volunteers to take the plunge. After all, everyone deserves a chance to dunk or be dunked, especially if it raises a little cold hard cash.

Whether you come for an OK burger or a great time, this event is guaranteed to be nothing but net for the Rangers.
