Rodney Hiermeier

Rodney Wayne “Butch” Hiermeier  was born Dec. 13, 1945, in Hot Springs, S.D., to Melvin and Ruby (Blessing) Hiermeier.  Butch spent over 50 years contributing to the operation of Hiermeier Trucking with his dad and brothers.
Butch, of Custer, S.D., peacefully passed away Sept. 2, 2022, at home with his family at his side. He was 76.
He is preceeded in death by his father, Mel and Linda Hiermeier; his mother, Ruby Crofutt; daughter, Angela Hiermeier; son, Jerad Hiermeier; and brother, Melvin K. “Rick” Hiermeier.
He is survived by his sons, Brian (Lora) Harbison  and Jason (Amber) Hiermeier, both of Rapid City, S.D.; daughter, Jennifer (Dusty) Hadlock of Custer; brother, Ronald Hiermeier of Custer; stepfather, Wayne Crofutt of Little Rock, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren.
Per Butch’s request, no services will be held.
Arrangements have been placed under the local direction of Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Custer.
