Middle School Reading

Where did you go to college?
I was born in Milwaukee, Wis. and moved to Hill City when I was 6 years old.
I attended school in Hill City first through 12th grade.
I attended Black Hills State University, graduating in 1993.

How long have you been a teacher?
I have been a teacher for 28 years; I’m currently starting my 24th year teaching at Hill City Middle School.

Why did you become a teacher?
I loved school and learning new things.  I wanted to “spread the love of learning” with future students.

What do you love about teaching?
I love the community of Hill City.  The small school allows us to get to know our students and their families, which I believe is important.  The admin and staff in Hill City care about the students, families and each other.
We work together to achieve the best for students, families and the town. I love to watch the students learn new information, change and grow.

Would you like to share any personal info?
I grew up in Hill City, went to school in Hill City, raised my children here, and now have grandkids attending school here.
I am happily married, have five children and I’m the proud grandma of 11 grandkids, with twin grandbabies on the way.
I love spending time with my family, reading and living in the Black Hills.
