Who’s on the ballot?

Election day takes place June 4. Voters can cast ballots at their polling place between  7 a.m. and 7 p.m. 
This is an election for positions such as school board and municipal seats, as well as a primary for others such as state positions.
Annette Brant is running unopposed for Pennington County treasurer and Lara R. Roetzel is running unopposed for state’s attorney. These positions will not appear on any ballots. 
Residents in Keystone and Hill City will all see the following options on their ballots. 
Andrew LeGare, Phil Jensen, John Santana and Marguerite McPhillips are running for the delegates to the state convention. Voters will be able to choose three people for this position.
On the Republican side there are three people running for the one state senator seat in District 30, and either Amber Hulse,  Forrest Foster or Julie Frye-Mueller will face Democrat Brett Swanson in the general election in November.
There are two open state representative seats in District 30. Susan Scheirbeck is the lone Democrat running this fall. 
On the Republican side voters will have the choice of two options from a large field which includes Pat Baumann, Matt Smith, Trish Ladner, Stephen Saint, Tim Goodwin and Matthew Monfore.
Jacob Rapp, Karen Street and incumbent Carmen M. Ronish are running for two open seats on the Hill City School District Board of Education.
Keystone voters will see options for the Keystone precinct  committeeman. Voters can choose between Tim Goodwin and Ken Delfino.
Melba Delfinia is running against Marcia Goodwin for the Keystone precinct committeewoman.
Rob Timm is running unopposed  for the Hill City precinct committeeman and thus will not appear on any ballots.
Hill City voters can choose between Stefanie Doaty and Tana Nichols for mayor.
Ward 1 voters in Hill City are casting votes for either  Justin Thiry or Steve Jarvis to be their next  alderman for a two-year term
Ethan Walker is running unopposed for his Ward 1 alderman seat. As such his name will not appear on any ballot.
In Ward 2 Hill City voters are choosing between Dennis Siebert or John Johnson for a two-year term as alderman.
