The Grass Wagon, located on Hill City Main Street, is already making an impression with its locally sourced goods, antiques and one-of-a-kind gifts and home decor. The new boutique has rolled into town, offering a cozy mix of rustic charm, handcrafted treasures and a friendly face to greet you at the door.
“Hi, folks. Come on in,” owner Christine Richardson cheerfully greeted visitors as they stepped inside.

Telemedicine in EMTs corner

In an effort to support local Emergency Medical Services (EMS) agencies and the communities they serve, the South Dakota Department of Health, in partnership with Avel eCare, is working on a project known as Telemedicine in Motion, and the Hill City Ambulance Service has already implemented this cutting edge technology. 
According to the South Dakota Department of Health (SDDOH) website, Telemedicine in Motion for EMS is a statewide initiative designed to provide telemedicine services to EMS agencies throughout the State of South Dakota. 

Opportunities to bloom abound at flower show

The Hill City Evergreen Garden Club will hold its annual flower show July 26 at the Hill City Center. This year’s theme is Hills in Bloom. 
The club is still accepting entries to the show.
Guidelines for entry categories are on the Hill City Evergreen Garden Club  Facebook page or within brochures located at local businesses. General categories include annuals, perennials, wildflowers, container gardens, arrangements, table settings as well as childrens and business/organization categories.

Keystone Art in the Park

The Keystone Park Board is inviting you to eat, shop and play in the heart of the Black Hills during its first Art in the Park fundraising event Friday, July 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This family-friendly event will showcase a wide variety of local vendors, food trucks and children’s activities with the goal of raising funds to revitalize Keystone’s recreation area.

Keystone celebrates Carrie Ingalls Swanzey’s 155th birthday

The Town of Keystone is preparing a heartfelt celebration in honor of one of its most cherished historical figures, Caroline “Carrie” Ingalls Swanzey. On July 19 the Keystone Historical Museum will host a daylong event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. marking what would have been Swanzey’s 155th birthday. 
Best known as the younger sister of author Laura Ingalls Wilder, whose “Little House” books depicted their family’s pioneering life on the western frontier, Swanzey built her own legacy through a successful career in the newspaper business and her community involvement. 

Cohort opens second location in Hill City

Cohort Craft Brewery has a second location, taking over the space Miner  Brewing Co. used to occupy at 23845 U.S. 385 outside of Hill City.
Owner Jason Kingsbury said the second location in Hill City gives him an “opportunity to keep with our taproom-focused ethos” while still expanding to a “beautiful area I call home.”
He said the move made total sense: “the right place, right time.”
The second location offers not just another taproom-focused brewery of Cohort products, but also a green space and patios offering views and tranquility.

The history of the First Congregational Church of Keystone is tightly woven with the fabric of Keystone’s early development.
