10 years ago, 2014 — In what had become a recurring theme during the winter months in the City of Custer, the Custer City Council heard another protest over a penalty levied against a downtown property owner who was fined for not shoveling their sidewalks in a timely manner after a recent snowstorm. The protest this time was from Kristen Anderson who owned apartments on 5th and Harney streets...The city was set to begin a major project on the city sewer system. The work, which was scheduled to last through May, would see old clay sewer mines rehabilitated via Cured in Place Pipe relining.
