Garden club names yard, landscape of the month

Hill City Evergreen Garden Club has recognized its “Old Fashioned” Landscapes and Gardens of the Month for July. Its focus this year is to celebrate all that is floral and native planting against a backdrop of old fashioned, historic themes and the natural attributes of the Black Hills. 
The July recipients are couples who live in our Hill City community and are committed to preserving land and history while creating tranquil and appealing landscapes.

Flower show flourishes at Hill City Center

The 2024 Hill City Evergreen Garden Club Flower Show is in the books, with rave reviews and likely record attendance. The show saw 271 visitors, 147 individual entries with nine businesses participating. 
Lisa Miller took home the people’s choice  best of show in the annual category with Julie Gray receiving the same honor in the perennial slot.
Evergreen Garden Club president Sherry Liddell said the outpouring from the community was extraordinary and wanted to thank all the club members, individual and  business entries and show attendees.

— The 2019 “Everything’s Coming up Roses” Hill City Flower Show was held Saturday, July 27. The event was hosted by the Hill City Evergreen Garden Club and was held at the Boys and Girls Club. According to information supplied by the club, there were 96 exhibits and 26 exhibitors. Attendance was 114 people per the hand-held clicker at the front table. This included tourists, club members, community members and Rapid City and Custer community members.
